Saturday September 23rd Double Dip

The USS Spiegel Grove is a dive site in Key Largo, Florida. The 510-foot naval ship was intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef for diving. The maximum depth is 121-130 feet, and the average visibility is 71-80 feet. The Spiegel Grove is so wide that on many days, the view of the superstructure fades into a green-blue abyss.

The Spiegel Grove is the backbone of the artificial reef system that has formed in this area. Algae, sponges, and coral mingle with 130 species of fish to create enormous biodiversity in this region. Divers may see Goliath Grouper, barracuda, and more.
