What you can expect to learn
- Learn the skills and techniques needed to safely penetrate wrecks.
- Practice property finning techniques.
- Practice using new equipment such as: reels, slates, and tethers.
- Continue mastering buoyancy control and navigation skills.
Course Equipment Requirements
In addition to the basic scuba equipment listed below, we recommend bringing a dive light. Wrecks are often found at deeper depths and you will experience a wash-out of colors or limited visibility. Ask your Instructor or the Dive Center what you need to provide for the course. We have rental gear available for an additional cost.
Each student will be responsible for providing the following gear:
- BCD
- Regulator
- Dive Computer
- Mask, Fins, Snorkel, Etc.
- Exposure protection
Required Specialty Equipment:
- Reel(s)
- Slate
- Gloves
- Mesh Bag
When enrolled in a course with Space Coast Dive Center you will receive a 10% student discount on all gear purchases.
Course Prerequisites
Age Requirements:
15 years old
Certification Prerequisite:
Wreck Diver certification.
Each Diver must be medically fit to dive. Please reach out to the Dive Center for a copy of the most up to date diver medical form.
How do I get Started?
During 4 open water dives with your instructor, you will review the skills learned in the Wreck Diver course, practice special finning techniques, and use penetration lines to navigate the interior of the wreck.
