Key points about the SSI Divemaster course:

Purpose:

• To equip divers with the skills and knowledge to guide and supervise other divers on recreational dives. 

• Prerequisites:

  Typically includes an Advanced Open Water certification, a Rescue certification, and a certain number of logged dives.

• Minimum 60 logged dives (totaling 40 hours dive time), Professional Dive Guide certification, Science of Diving

• Course components:

  • Dive theory and leadership skills: In-depth study of dive physics, physiology, equipment management, and how to effectively lead a group underwater. 
  • Dive guiding techniques: Practice in guiding divers through various environments, including navigating, maintaining proper depth and air management, and responding to potential issues.
