Supercharge Your Dive – SSI Enriched Air Nitrox
Do more of what you love—dive longer. You’ve traveled all the way to the dive site. Why head back to the surface when you still have air in your tank? The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) course is the key to extending your "no-decompression limits," allowing you to stay at depth longer than you ever could on standard air.
Whether you are exploring a sprawling shipwreck, photographing marine life, or simply trying to maximize your vacation time, Nitrox is the industry standard for active divers. It is the single most popular specialty course in the world for one reason: it works.
Why Take a Nitrox Course?
-
Double Your Bottom Time: In some cases, diving with Nitrox can nearly double the amount of time you can spend at specific depths (like 60–90 feet) compared to air.
-
Shorter Surface Intervals: Because your body absorbs less nitrogen, you can get back in the water sooner for your second or third dive of the day.
-
Feel Better: Many divers report feeling less fatigued after a day of diving on Nitrox, making it perfect for multi-day trips like liveaboards or dive vacations.
-
Safer Profiles: Even if you don't stay down longer, using Nitrox while diving a "standard air" profile adds a significant safety margin, reducing the risk of decompression sickness.
What You Will Learn
This course is unique because it is a "dry" specialty—you can complete the entire certification without getting wet!
-
The Science: Understand the relationship between oxygen and nitrogen and how increasing oxygen (up to 40%) changes your dive limits.
-
Tank Analysis: Hands-on training with an oxygen analyzer to verify exactly what is in your tank before every dive.
-
Computer Setup: How to program your dive computer for different gas blends (Nitrox 32 vs. Nitrox 36) to track your exposure safely.
-
Depth Limits: Learn the concept of "Maximum Operating Depth" (MOD) to avoid oxygen toxicity.

Expand Your Range
Planning a big trip? Most top-tier dive resorts and liveaboards offer "Free Nitrox" upgrades—but only if you are certified. Don't leave free bottom time on the table. This certification is also a prerequisite for technical diving and essential for deep diving adventures.
