Get Your Sea Legs Back – Pool Refresher
Shake off the rust before you hit the reef. If it has been a while since your last dive, jumping straight into the ocean can be intimidating. You don't always need a formal course or a new certification card—sometimes, you just need a little time in the pool to remember how everything works.
Our Pool Refresher is a relaxed, non-certification session designed solely for your comfort. You will jump in the pool with one of our Divemasters or Instructors to review your gear, practice your buoyancy, and clear your mask, all without the pressure of a "pass/fail" exam.
Why Book a Tune-Up?
-
Zero Pressure: There are no tests and no online homework. This is just you, a pro, and the pool.
-
Gear Check: Unsure about your old BCD or regulator? We will help you set it up and ensure everything is functioning correctly in a safe environment.
-
Muscle Memory: Remind your body what zero gravity feels like. Practice hovering, ear equalization, and fin kicks so they feel natural again.
-
Customized to You: Since there is no rigid curriculum, you can ask your Divemaster to focus on exactly what you are worried about—whether that's mask clearing or weight distribution.
Enhance Your Experience: The "Guided Ocean" Add-On
Feeling good after the pool? Don't stop there. You have the option to upgrade your experience by adding a 2-Tank Guided Boat Dive.
Instead of navigating a new dive site alone, you will be accompanied by a Space Coast Dive Center professional for your first day back in the ocean. They will handle the navigation and logistics, so you can just relax and enjoy the fish.
Pool Refresher vs. Scuba Skills Update
-
Pool Refresher (This Page): A personal practice session for your own peace of mind. Does not include a new certification card or digital agency recognition. Perfect for divers who just want to get wet.
-
Scuba Skills Update: A formal SSI course that generates a digital "recognition card" to prove to dive operators that you are active. (Best for divers traveling to strict resorts).
What You Need
-
Certification Card: You must present your original Open Water (or higher) card from any agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI, etc.).
-
Gear: Rental gear is available, or you can bring your own system for us to help you check.
